Beer Sightings

Post by Malcolm »

Last night I was bellyaching to one of the lovely bartenders at The Rhino (1249 Queen W.) because the cask beer was still out, the Hockley Dark ran out and they hadn't changed their taps for awhile.
I was wrong, they do have a new one - Fullers Old Winter Ale, which I've never seen before. The Rhino does a piss-poor job of publicizing/updating their beer menu, so this was a surprise. Across the street, The Cadillac Lounge has Brooklyn Lager on tap (it's way better than the bottled version IMO) and sources at C'est What tell me that my fave, Iron Duke, wil be on cask in time for their 20th birthday party, if not before.
Just so you know.

Crikey, that's a strange one to turn up in Toronto. Did you try any?

Just as an FYI, this is also on Tap at The King Edward in Ilderton and at the Castle on King in Kitchener.

Yeah, I had 1 pint. Quite interesting - very flavourful, kind of heavy, buttery feel in the mouth. 4.8% I believe. Not the kind of thing I could drink all night though.
