Over the past few days in Buffalo at Pizza Plant Transit/Coles/Blue Monk and back at the room:

To Øl/Mikkeller Ov-ral (draught) first beer of the trip and it remained the highlight. Loved that stuff.
Bear Republic Racer 5 (draught)
Community Beer Works Frank (draught)
Stone Sublimely Self Righteous (draught)
Victory Hop Devil (draught)
Long Trail Brewmasters Double IPA (draught)
Sierra Nevada Southern Hemisphere Harvest (draught)
Sinebrychoff Porter (draught)
Founders Centennial IPA (draught)
Founders Red's Rye PA (draught)
Great Lakes Lake Eerie Monster (draught)
Stillwater Stateside Saison (draught)
Firestone Walker Wookey Jack (draught)
Firestone Walker Union Jack (draught)
Dales Pale Ale (can)
Evil Twin Even More Jesus (bottle)
Mikkeller Hop Burn Lo (bottle)
Green Flash Imperial IPA (bottle)
Founders Porter (bottle)
Troegs Perpetual IPA (bottle)

All in all not a bad birthday. I have to say I was a little disappointed by what I tried from the Founders lineup. Not bad beers but not quite as good as I was expecting. Red's Rye was definitely the highlight of those but Cameron's RPA still kicks its ass.

Scoured the city but no sign of the 10th Anniversary Ruination. Ah well! Managed to score the last growler of Palate Wrecker from Premier at least.

That's one hell of a birthday session Cale! I never saw any Firestone Walker on tap when I was there - what was your verdict? Also, how's the Frank?

I found Frank to be extremely bitter for such a low ABV pale ale. I certainly enjoyed the bitterness, but it was a big surprise. The Firestone Walker beers were fantastic. Had the Wookey Jack at Blue Monk and the Union Jack at Pizza Plant. They were pretty much everywhere. Premier, Consumer's on Elmwood, and Village Beer all had FW for growler fills. The new growler fill station at Premier is fantastic.

But my god today was not the day to drive back from Buffalo in a car without AC.

Now drinking: Oskar Blues Deviant Dales

Currently 90% of the way through a Dogfish Chicory Stout which was preceded by Black Oak 10BY which came shortly after Green Flash Palate Wrecker and Goose Island Sofie down the street at Cale's.

Last night after a NickelBrook Berliner Weiss in the sweltering heat of Bar Hop, came home and had my first can of Welly IRS.

Um...not how I remember this beer...I'll post more in the review section...

Last night:

SN Hoptimum: Shazam. Pretty hot but incredible. Hop syrup.

As I type:

Firestone Walker Wookey Jack Black Rye IPA: WoW. Not that I have many black IPAs to draw upon (let alone black rye IPAs) but this is knocking my socks off. FW's Double Jack is one of the best things I've ever consumed and this is up there too.

Russian River Damnation (so good with a charcoaled filet)
Dieu du Ciel! Solstice d'Été (sooooo good)

Will drown all that with a shot of Chateau Rogue Single Malt. I love summer.

Me too, having a Rochefort 8, earlier today, grabbed a Cheshire Citra IPA at Wvrst.

How's the Cheshire Citra? I heard it's pretty great...

Had an Cameron's RPA
Then a Victory Storm Kind and seriously considering cracking a Rochefort 10...

Should I?

I liked it (the Cheshire), citra is my favourite hop, I originally wanted an Augusta, but they were out. Bust open the 10, I hold on to too many high calibre beers waiting for the right occasion. Sometimes you just have to have a good beer.
