Hope you guys liked them...

Huge thanks Marcus, Everett is a game-changer in the world of porters. Mind blowing-ly tasty. Terrapin WNB was very nice as well.

I would do dirty dirty things to that beer. Looks absolutely sexual.

A blend of 2 parts Plowman Ale to 1 of Mackeson XXX Stout. Result is a superb rich stout-style beer of the English style, fuller and grainier than the Old Macky but without the acerbic earthy notes I got from the Plowman's on its own.

You could substitute for the stout any good Ontario stout but I'm not sure about the new Russian Gun, which seems different in flavour than before and not nearly as good, IMO. Perhaps it's the spice additions.

Matt and I enjoyed a couple beers at The Ship, and The brain respectively. Stowaway was closed.

Railway City Stout which was very good as usual and a Kensington Fish EYE P A.

Oddly enough you are not the first person do say something like that about this photo.

I wish GR would just brew an Imperial Stout and stop messing around. But I guess they're having fun.

My pleasure, old friend. We will see each other soon, and maybe the whole team can meet up. I am more of a "last minute" kinda guy in terms of plans, but others need a bit of notice as well..... We will figure it out! Always a pleasure to sit and talk beer with you Matt!

La Choulette Ambrée Bière de Garde at BierMarkt on the Esplanade.

I thought bier de gardes weren't supposed to age well, meant to enjoyed fresh. But the La Choulette Ambrée is very enjoyable now (taste & aroma much like a good Belgian Dark Strong ale), with a June 2006 best before date. I swear it wasn't on BierMarkt's last 2 beer menus, it just appear on thier "Last Call" list months ago...
