In Montreal, Goose Village stout and Bishop Tipple was I think the name, the latter from Golden Lion in the Townships and the former from a Montreal brewery, maybe Brasseurs de Montreal. Both superb and reminded me that when you have a great beer at regular abv you don't really need extreme beers welcome as they sometimes are. These were very true Irish stout and English bitter styles respectively and the Bishop was very bitter too, like an APA but with English hops or in other words close to what some pale ale was like originally.
