It was interesting to taste history. Lots of soy, sherry, a slightly tart character alongside molasses, toffee, fruits, etc... Bottle had heavy sediment stuck to the bottle but beer poured pretty clear, just some light sediment. Really unique flavour, definitely a top beer experience for me.JeffPorter wrote:ritzkiss wrote: Then a 1983 Thomas Hardy's at home. Whoo boy, that's a hell of a brew 30 years later...

had one of these 3-4 weeks ago. Unbelievably good. I'm a fan of tripels, strong saisons, and what have you, but a lot of them just leave a lot to be desired. Not the case with this one. We also sampled Anchorage the Tide and It's Takers the same night, and it had no business even being on the same table.Torontoblue wrote: Logdsons Seizeon Bretta

I wish I'd gotten more of the Logdsons, but it was the last bottle on the shelf; it really is a great ale and far too drinkable! Should have the oak aged version arriving this week The one time I tried Tide and It's Takers, it came across as too sweet & boozy.markaberrant wrote:had one of these 3-4 weeks ago. Last night had the new bottles of Black IPA from Tree. What it lacked in hop aroma, it made up for in hop flavour. A very "balanced" double/imperial black IPA.
Also picked up a six of Muskoka Summer Weiss. Very nice this year again, and much more reasonable in this format!

Ho-lee sheet. Got home from work this morning and found a 750 bottle of Hopfenstark Boson de Higgs had exploded in my bedroom. I had it sitting in an open top box, ready for a move. 20 food radius of glass shards, including in my bed and laundy basket and beer on all 4 walls. I've never seen anything like it. Glad I wasn't home when it happened. Had to laugh that it was the Boson de Higgs.
Not really a "what I'm drinking" but more a "what I'm smelling" post. Smells like a tasty beer.
