Ephemere Cerise

It's good, but I still prefer the Pomme or Cassis

Beau's Alt. Authentic, nutty-tasting, tangy German-style alt beer. I would prefer a deeper malt and hop profile - same tastes as present but just more of them - but this is very nice. Slight smoky aftertaste.

+1, Cerise is far from awful and I liked it, but the Pomme has been around a while and is extremely well put together.

Sawdust City tap takeover at Hardrock42 in Sudbury:

Princess Wears Girl Pants 2XIPA
Red Rocket Stout (stout with chilli peppers I think)
Long Dark Voyage to Whiskey
Ol’ Woody Alt
Gateway Kolsch
Lone Pine IPA on cask

The Alt and Lone Pine on cask were favourites.

At the tail end of a Los Angeles trip and have been doing a little bottle hunting. Tried the DFH 61 yesterday - meh. Also had Mikkeller's Wheat Is The New Hops. I liked it but it came off really unbalanced. Maybe it's just my lack of familiarity with funk. (And on the issue of Brett: I had an Evil Twin Femme Fatale Brett a little while ago which I picked up at Premier Gourmet and it was fantastic - the funk came off as a savouriness that I've never found previously.)

Some of interesting finds out here: a couple of Parabola, three versions of Fifty Fifty Eclipse (2012 red, blue and black wax), RuinTen, The Bruery Bois, a few of Stone's Quingenti Millilitre series (I picked up the 20120 Old Guardian aged in Bourbon Barrels and Ruination aged in Kentucky Bourbon Barrels), Stone/Ballast Point/Kelsey McNair session ale collar, and one that I can't seem to find much about: Cismontane's American Strong Rye Ale, listed at 130 IBUs.
