Yesterday was a little labelling and waxing party for Winter Is Coming, so I got to sample a bunch of tasty Swansea homebrews. two different pils and a couple of saisons. yummy stuff, as always. Also had a Great Lakes (OH) / Descutes Class Of '88 imperial smoked porter that was nice, but the highlight was definitely tasting the mega-collaboration for the first time. amazing and up among the best beers I've ever made or contributed to, let alone tasted.

Any idea what the plan is with this beer? Will it be hitting the LCBO? Aside from your post and a tweet from Lackey, I haven't seen much on this.

yup, this. no LCBO, it's a small batch - bunch of collaborators each with a slightly different RIS recipe to produce the final blend that went into the barrel, with only a portion (48 bottles) going to retail, a small keg going to Indie for their part, and the rest of the bottles to the brewers. A lot of work went into it, and it's pretty freakin' awesome if I do say so myself.

Wow. So Great Lakes is selling 48 bottles at the Retail shop? I assume this will be gone quick, so none for me. Thanks for the info.

yup, that's the only public sale it'll get. keg should be at indie during toronto beer week (for the homebrew tap takeover on the 17th i believe) if you want to try it there. Otherwise you'll need to convince one of the brewers to trade you some :) I'm going to put a post in the trading forum tonight with a few bottles that I'm looking for...
