1. Nickel Brook Green Light Berliner Weisse
2. Nickel Brook Green Light Berliner Weisse
@ Bar Hop, it's sessionably lactic-sour, flavorful, ABV-light & delicious. NB is one of my favorite brewers, uncompromising style that does not pander to the faint of palate.

Tonight @ Only Cafe - Spirit Tree (not so great) & Founders Dirty Bastard

Tonight @ The Wren - Founders Backwoods Bastard
I did not realize it was a GL Tap Takeover event; GLB Troy was quizzing me about their hoppy beers... I guess I'm not a big fan of some of them and they cared enough to notice here on BT, hey what do I know?

^ Backwoods is sure worth a try though. Now sipping a Bellwoods Stay Classy, true to form in its bottled iteration...

Cameron's RyeBock. Fresh, rich, malt- and hop-forward taste, faultless and much better than any Maibock import I've had. This brewery goes from strength to strength.

Sinha Stout, laced with Ceylon arrack. This is the regular Sinha stout from Sri Lanka we get, to which I added a dash of arrack, a coconut spirit made in the same area the stout is brewed. Many years ago, Michael Jackson wrote that it was a local habit to do this blend. I could never taste it, due to not having the arrack. But LCBO is currently carrying a brand from this country, it is called Mendis Special Arrack, aged three years in "Halmilla Casks". I like the blend, the arrack gives the stout a slight woody taste with a touch of the coconut flower from the sap of which the arrack is distilled. Maybe (who knows) the blending was an attempt to secure the taste of stout when made in wooden vessels and served from wooden casks. Anyway it works - this one is to Michael's memory.
