What's the price out there? It's $9.86, or something like that here.

Just arrived in Alberta, and all bottled early to mid February 2014.

All 3 are lovely drops!!

One of the top breweries in the northeast, for sure.

"Titus" is another good one.

All fine choices. I can see why Philly has a reputation as a great beer city. Quick question – how do you find getting around, particularly at night? Is the subway system comparable to New York, Chicago, Boston, etc? Inquiring minds want to know.

The subway's fine & comparable to Chicago I think but, even better than Chicago, many of the best drinking locations are an easy walk from one another. I found Chicago to be much more spread out and you had to rely on transit to hit multiple destinations, while Philly is much more concentrated in a much more walkable core. I think Philly might be one of the most underrated drinking destinations in the US; this is my 2nd time here and no doubt I'll be back again.

Where are you staying? I'm going to Philly the first weekend in May, we're staying at the Loews Hotel. Never been there, so definitely looking forward to it.

Sounds awesome. We're heading there in the fall and I hate blowing money on cabs so it's encouraging to hear all of this. Cheers!

You're super central, easy walking to everything in Rittenhouse, walking to everything in Old Town. If you choose to transit it out of the core, you're there. Nice location.

Day 3-4 in Philadelphia (so far):

Victory Prima Pils
Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA
Bear Republic Red Racer
Allagash James Bean
Aecht Schlenkerla Festenbier
Victory DirtWolf
Sixpoint Resin
Firestone Walker Wooky Jack
Off Color/Three Floyd's Rats in the Ashes
Dark Horse Double Crooked Tree

Duggan IPA, or "9" as the front of the bottle states. I found a couple of months in the fridge much improved it. It throws a slight deposit and I poured most of the bottle clear in a pint glass. It was rich-tasting and well-balanced with complex malts (roasted chestnut came to mind) and excellent American hopping. The hazy part in the base was sharp and not nearly as good. I was surprised at how the storage (cold in the fridge) seemed to improve it.

Dogstalker

First time trying one. I am quite enjoying it. Never been a big bock fan but this is making me think it is time to revisit the style.

Oh Philly, you've been good to me yet again!
