That's the way she goes. Sometimes she goes, sometimes it doesn't. She didn't go. That's the way she goes.

2:1 blending of Keith's Saphir Single Hop and Midtfyns Bryghus Imperial Stout.
The stout on its own was decent but a little light for an Impy IMO. The Saphir lacks enough extract IMO (too attenuated) but has a great hop nose. The 2:1 combo adds just the amount of extract needed plus a light chocolate taste to the Saphir.
An almost "Turkish Delight" hop flavour shines through.
For good measure the can was open for two days in the fridge and the stout corked and partly full from a few days ago. The reduction of CO2 makes the blend very much like a cask beer in bubble.
A really good Black IPA, circa-6% ABV.

It's a nice drop; basically a cross between a Belgian Strong Dark and spiced Winter Warmer, with the typical Unibroue yeast profile. Alcohol is so well hidden that I ordered three more pints, then suffered the consequences the next day.dale cannon wrote:What were your impressions of this one Mike?cratez wrote:Unibroue La Resolution (draft)

The bottled version reminds me of an alcoholic Dandelion & Burdock; nice herbal, spiced bitterness.
