Stayed in last night with the mrs and had a few we enjoyed:

Bellwoods' Motley Cru (2014)
Bellwoods' Motley Cru (2015)
Beau's Thirty-three And A Third
Beau's Smoked Helmüt

They were all delicious. Motley 2014 had lost a lot of the hops (as I'd expected) but it was still slightly tart/sour. I didn't enjoy it as much as fresh but it was still good.

The Beau's ones were great. Thirty-three and a Third was a great mix, it had strong aromas like a russian imperial stout but the taste was much smoother, especially for 9.4%. It had some nice bourbon notes too, no doubt from the two bourbon-aged beers that were part of the blend.

Just stumbled across a store next to my hotel in California that has fresh pliney bottles for $5. I had a list of beers I wanted to drink while I'm here but now that's out the window.

Muskoka Detour
Great Lakes Octopus Wants to Fight IPA
Fremont Dark Star - Coffee Edition

The Dark Star was just fantastic. Great intermingling of the coffee and the bourbon barrel. One of the better beers I've had in a while.

At the Royal York hotel (!)

Great Lakes Pompous Ass
Great Lakes Canuck

Both in cans at an education-related event. Was stunned to see something other than Mill Street organic or the usual macro's being poured.
