I've been working through a bunch of my vintage stuff of late and the 06 Old Guardian was pretty great...however I too had not had it before (or if I did then I never rated it) and so it's hard to bench it against others of that age or younger versions.

Tonight I had an 05 Fullers Vintage followed by an 06. The 05 was sublime...the alcohol was completely integrated and the beer finished with an amazing fruited caramel note that was simply sublime. Wow!
I don't always piss in a bottle but when I do...I prefer to call it Dos Equis.

Peche Mortel. A friend just brought me back a bunch of these along with 1837 and Corne du diable. I am a happy camper right now.

I really think I have found one of my favorite beers of all time.
This is truly beautiful.

Cheers,

Wow, now that's my kind of lineup. If you ever need another participant for tastings let me know. I think my cellar would fit right in.

The Alaskan Baltic Porter was vile. It was like drinking a full fat Coke :-? Top beers from that lot were all from Surly, especially the Coffee Bender Brown Ale.

last night i had a Pilsner Urquell and a Hockley Dark. probably the most ive enjoyed a $5 LCBO purchase in a while. the PU was spot on as always and the Hockley was the best can ive had of that brew.

surly makes great stuff. looking forward to being back in town this summer for some nice fresh surly on tap.

for me, tops of the night was the arctic devil barleywine. that shit was insanely good. the thirsty dog siberian night is also an underrated ris.

Thumbs up for DDC and Corne du Diable. This is very enjoyable.
Maybe not exactly an India Pale Ale, but it's tasty. The aroma itself it's above and beyond many.
anyone with me?

A couple of weird ones - Alley Kat Aaiieeeeeeeeee Caramba - Serano Chili Beer, and then Alley Kat Heatseeker Coconut Curry Beer. The chili beer wasn' remotely as hot as the Garrison version, but perhaps better balanced. The heatseeker is pretty cool and reminds me of a thai green curry.

I'd also like to take this moment to say AJ Burnett is a total douchebag and his gonna go up in flames in New York.
