To be honest I was shocked at how good it is, considering it's a pale lager and sells as a value beer at TBS. It's very ale-like, and similar to the Blonde, which some people might resent. I got lots of toasty, bready, and grainy malts, some sweetness, a crisp, spicy and refreshing body, and a surprisingly solid hop bitterness. If you like the style it's worth a shot.

Mikkeller Drink'in the Sun 10. This is 2.9% of pure awesome. Even as a low alc beer, it packs in more hops than most West Coast PA's. If it was more affordable and more regularity available, it would be my session beer.

A couple of beers from La Senne, a new micro in Belgium, available currently at beerbistro. The first is Stouterik, a 4.5% ABV stout and a beauty it is. Where it excels on most stouts we get here (or porters, the same style basically) is its firm bitterness. It's a clean big bitter, not American in style but more neutral yet with a big incisive taste. This is what stout needs, and historically the style was well-bittered, it became famous as a well-hopped black beer. The second beer was a pale ale, also well hopped with a spicy variety that I thought might be German. An excellent pale ale with everything right about it.

A new brewery but making classy, well-structured beers, and doing it at just under 5% ABV, thus with sessionable potential. Kudos to the team at beerbistro to find these.
