That is a fine beer. When I had it, it was like a black wheat ipa. Had a few coors light at the gf grandparents place. Once we got home I had a netherworld, and right now I am sipping a Lagunits little sumpin' wild. Awsome what pale ale. Has super notes of peach and other light fruits. also has a nice toasted wheat flavor. TONNES of hop aroma. Really glad I picked this up.kinguy wrote:Great Lakes Miami Weissendunkel

What're you drinking right now?
There is nothing to do here in Kingston but drink, so I limit the beer I keep around...
But I was at KBC today and just made it there for a delicious pint of Kingston Figgie Pudn. One of the best winter ale style beers I have ever tasted. And Santa-like they comped my pint (I have never tipped so well and with such gratitude.)
Just prior had lunch at The Golden Rooster Deli, where the Reuben is hellaciously good. I had NO idea... this place just rocks for the Smoked.

Christmas eve - had some homebrew, some home made wine, Petrus Aged Pale Ale and an 08 Burlywine for a nightcap while watching Machete.
Today - homebrew, just about to do a side by side of my barleywine with an 09 Bigfoot, not sure about supper/tonight, either more barleywines or maybe a RR Damnation?

I'm calling the side by side barleywine tasting a draw. Colour is pretty much identical. I used slightly different hop varieties, so the aroma is different, mine is pine and tropical, bigfoot is just pine, but both are excellent. I can't believe how similar the two are, I'm pretty happy with this! Tasting pretty good alongside some smoked cheddar, while I'm waiting for my turkey to finish.
Hockley Stout was far tastier than Hockley dark.
Had a Netherworld Cascadian Dark... now sliding into a bottle of St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout, possibly a second, and wondering 'why do I not drink this all the time?'
Being on Kingston limits your options but that can leave you a good option. Also said Merry Xmas to Sir John A Macdonald today at his final resting place. RIP our first Canadian PM!

Rogue's Santa's Private Reserve for lunch
Bridgeport's 2010 Hop Harvest to cleanse the palate
A wonderfully tropical, acidic Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc 2010 from New Zealand with Xmas dinner
Now a Bruery Black Orchid to start the night off..................
Moved onto a Granville Island Imperial Chocolate stout, which was a little on the sickly sweet side.
And now an Avery Samaels, which is far far too bloody sweet and over-bearing. Should have tried this next year!!!!!

I'm just about to crack open a Samiclaus from the last "legal" batch from the LCBO. That hardly looks like Santa.
