Good question.

SO what you have is an American Goldfinch.

Wow, thanks for the education! I hadn't seen this species in my yard before, so I just did a quick google search based on the markings (yellow with black wings, black on head) and Willow Goldfinch was the name that kept coming up. Obviously I'm not much of an ornithologist but I like to look.

I had a Southern Tier 2XIPA last night and it wasn't quite as hoppy as I was expecting. I think I'm going to have to do a side by side tasting with the regular IPA and find out what's up.

I've never tried the Unearthly, but like the Gemini, I found the 2XIPA to be more sweet than hoppy.

Last night at The Morrissey House with nicktbm:

Flying Monkeys Smash Bomb IPA (draught)
F&M Stone Hammer Pilsner (bottle)

Then at Gambrinus:

Granite Hopping Mad (cask)
Les Trois Mousquetaires Porter Baltique (bottle)

Great night all around, and I'm glad to see Milos back in action after his three-week vacation to Prague!

Couple Hopticals after Work that were vigorously hopped - not sure about the consistency about this beer.

Now a 4 month old Double Trouble that still packs a huge grapefruit punch of hops...damn I love Founders and their IIPAs & stouts.

Weyerbacher double Simcoe IPA. Yum.
I don't always piss in a bottle but when I do...I prefer to call it Dos Equis.

It is hard to compare a dry-hopped Pale Ale to an IPA. They really are two different beers. That said, if I could pick only one of these to be on the shelves at LCBO I would probably pick the Hop Yard.

I'm brewing a hefe... I felt like something German so I went for the Amsterdam Spring Bock, followed by Tree's Doppelbock.

No time for lunch, so I figured these were a suitable meal replacement. ;D
