A couple of flights at Bar Volo, which allow tasting a reasonable range. Of the ones tried, I thought the 1913 Traditional Ale from Grand River was by far the best, with its full-flavoured yet refined, even elegant, taste.
I also liked the House Ales porter made, Ralph said, with some vanilla added and on the strong side. Both excellent sides of the beer coin!

Hmm, again no. But what would I know. I'm no beer chemist.bartle wrote:oxidized and under attenuated?Belgian wrote: Now enjoying a few Hopyard, a Pale Ale with an unusual vinious quality, almost like you can taste wild grapes in it or something.
I do know some Ontario IPA's taste 'weird' to me sometimes - maybe I'm sensitive to some hop flavors - Black Oak Ten Bitter Years is sometimes very odd to me, and Durham Hop Head and Hop Addict are beers I just don't get.

Half a bottle of Beaus Festivale last night. I didn't really care for it, but I think I just might not be a fan of the altbier style.
I also had an Orval the other weekend from the last release and the damn thing foamed up an nearly emptied itself on my kitchen counter... I've got a bunch more in the cellar so I hope they're not all going to be like that.
