Looking for the original Bar Towel blog? You can find it at www.thebartowel.com.
We have a trivia question in order to register to prevent bots. If you have any issues with answering, contact us at cass@bartowel.com for help.
Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

Homebrewed California blonde and O-fest... working outside at this time of year is great... the beer stays nice & cool.
St. Bernardus 8 with dinner... best before 2010, and they were probably right. It lost some carbonation, awesome depth of fruity flavour though, and the alcohol was REALLY tame.
After dinner, Rochefort 8, also best before 2010. Still REALLY carbonated, some phenolic spicyness, not nearly the fruit of the Benny. I should've mixed the two 8's.

Last night as a nightcap I drank one of my last bottles of a small batch I did of Belgian Golden Strong. It came out at 10% ABV, and is just over a year old.
Fantastic, quite possible one of the best homebrews I've ever made/drank. Dry/Tart, deceptively smooth. Nice Pear/Fruit esters, holy crap I need to make this again! Who knew it wouldn't come into it's own for a year.

Side by side of St. Bernardus Abt. 12 and Westvletern 12. My first time having Westy 12 about a year ago I much prefered the Abt. 12. I think I'm leaning a lot more towards the Westy now bottles just over a year 03.11.14 on the cap. Not sure if I prefer it over the Achel though, that will be tomorrows taste test.
Yesterday with honeyman and lubiere. and friends, drank a few, but from what I remember...
1989 Young's Old Nick (surprisingly still good despite some signs of age)
Churchkey Put it in your pipe and smoke it (rauchbier)
Alaskan Smoked Porter 2010
Alaskan Amber
Mikkeler Imperial Pilsner
Driftwood Wheat beer
And LOTS of good and bad homebrew. Bad was mine lol.
