Few bottles of Anchor Liberty Ale at Red House, Kingston with the very acceptable grilled burger.

A can of Mad Tom, decent.

Walkerville Honest Lager - I expect a bit more for something billed as a marzen but it's pretty good
Collective Arts Ransack the Universe - Happy having this as one of my go to's
Four Winds Phaedra - Four Winds has gotta hit the LCBO at some point, right?
Four Quarters Christollen - Very good belgian-inspired ale. With 4 Quarters, Frost and Foam coming on board in VT I'm no longer bummed out if I miss out on Heady or Sip.

For me, Ransack has snatched the "go-to" crown from Headstock. Widely available, fresh and smoother IMO. I've had some phenomenal cans of Headstock, but not lately.

Yesterday at Bar Hop - La Butuese Brassin Speciale (saw it was on tap and made a point to pop in just to give it a try, was not disappointed.

Today - on my way to the Because Beer festival in Hamilton so all kinds of things coming up. Truth be told, it's not a great festival for finding anything special/rare, but the ambiance and scenery have been great for the past two years and there's usually one or two new beers that I discover while also enjoying some reliable favourites.

Over the weekend at The Griffin Gastropub, Muskoka Brewery, Frosty Pint Pub, and Sawdust CIty Brewing:
Local 7 West Coast Session Lager (draft)
Muskoka Moonlight Kettle Series: Clementine Cranberry IPA (sample)
Central City Red Racer ISA (draft)
Redline 454 High Output Big Block IPA (draft)
Muskoka Kirby’s Kölsch (draft)
2015 Muskoka Winter Jacket (sample)
Sawdust City & Arendals Little Norway (draft)
Sawdust City & Bar Hop Coriolis Effect (draft)
Sawdust City The Mountie (sample)
Sawdust City Lone Pine IPA (draft)
Amsterdam Ritual (sample)

First time visiting the Bracebridge / Gravenhurst area and I was very impressed with their small but stellar beer scene. Sampled a bunch of beers that I had never tried before despite having access to virtually everything in Toronto, and the Muskoka folks gave me a case of Detour when they found out I was taking the plunge. Locals were friendly pretty much everywhere we went. Will definitely be returning for another cottage and boozing trip as soon as possible.

Mikkeller Frelser (Bock) from spring of 2012, I wasn't sure at first but this has held up well! Hops are flatter but overall strong profile is nice.
Notes April 2012
Wow an odd duck. In a good way. Cloudy brown, golden highlights, with a puffy tan head that fades. Aroma of raisins and a bit of demerara play out in the flavors, with a strong taste of dry hops and some assertive alcohol. Dark-bready flavors, a bit of salt and mineral, and a wine-like feel. Hooray Mikkeller’s in Ontario!!
I recall I only paid 2.95 for each of the 750ml because the clerk couldn't find the code for my two bottles. This is a fine bookend to Mikkel's fleeting presence here, and the first thing from him we saw on our shelves.

Cooking some Coq au Vin with a chicken I ran over today in my car... Smells dee-lish.
