What're you drinking right now?
Cigar City Beers, while in Sarasota: excellent stuff
Jai Alai IPA
Hopped on the High Seas ( dry hopped with Citra ) IPA
Invasion APA
Six Point Hi-Res: smoothest 11% beer ever.
Lots of interesting stuff I've never heard of before, in the good bars here.
I've managed to find fresh Cigar City beer in Publix grocery store.
Dates are on bottom of cans.
Sent back an old Jai Alai in a restaurant yesterday.

Nose is complex with roast, liquorice, and earthy English hops coming through. Palate is a nice change from the canned widget versions that we're used to since the carbonation is higher and the body less creamy. But the flavour doesn't quite hold up; it's roasty-grainy and slightly tart but not as robust, dark chocolaty, and coffee-like as the draught that I enjoyed a while ago. So a bit of a letdown in that regard.JeffPorter wrote: What's the verdict on this, Mike, can't wait to try it...

I still want to try it! Not too cold by the sounds of it. Right now I'm enjoying the Founders Pale Ale, liking this more each time I chug one back.

Had one at the Only last week. I enjoyed it, but not as much as I thought I would based on everything I'd read. The thing that really impressed me, though, was that it drank ridiculously easily for its weight.iguenard wrote:How was the Moralité drinking?cratez wrote:Last night at Bar Hop:

And it can keep going! I had an 8-year old oaked yeti last year and it was beautiful still.spinrsx wrote:drinking a 2010 great divide old ruffian thanks to iguenard.

Last night at The Céilí Cottage:
Durham Hop Head (cask)
Barley Days Scrimshaw Oyster Stout (draught)
Durham Hop Addict (draught)
Witnessed an absolutely confounding scene at the bar as the Canadian guy sitting next to us – who had no discernible accent when chatting to the bartender – started speaking in an Irish accent when he was joined by one of the English regulars later in the evening. Why do people feel the need to do this (especially grown ass men)?

First one was served too cold as is often the case in bars (even the great ones). Let my second pint warm for 20 min. while eating and once it reached the right temp it was just beautiful. Huge resiny hop nose, big citric, oily, and piney-resinous hop flavours with some caramel and bread crust to balance, and the expected drying-bitter finish. To me it drinks like a milder version of Heady and it's probably the best IPA available in Ontario right now. I'm gonna try to get back there for a couple more pints before the keg kicks.iguenard wrote: How was the Moralité drinking?

Nicklebrook Cluster IPA at Volo. The Cluster hop is an old American variety, predating the C-hops/Amarillo/etc. by a couple of hundred years or so. To me it tastes exactly like a fine English hop mixed with a New World type (wild hop as they all were originally), which may well be the genesis as inferred by hop experts.
Why this hop didn't become the flagship of the craft ale movement is anyone's guess. The beer from it is best fizzy and cold, it just suits it.
Also, Bellwoods Hellwoods Imperial Stout on regular draft (not cask), no cherries this time. Deep-flavoured and easily challenging Wells Young Courage IRS for quality.
