St Ambroise 2009 Stout Imperiále Russe (American bourbon oak) - I love how the dense color 'stains' the glass with a Cognac gold-brown. Drinking is pure pleasure, maybe not quite a Top Five stout for me but certainly beats out Oak Yeti. Another proud national contender (as I said the Phillips DIPA is darn good.)

Driftwood Twenty Pounder
It was so nice walking into several liquor stores in BC and not seeing the huge divide of available beers between there and where I live now. Last time I was in Van I was overwhelmed and wanted to buy everything....now I could, and was more choosey.

Is it just me or is the Twenty Pounder a bit too hoppy and lacking in malt backing? I've been cutting it to tone it down (I bought a case before having the first one).Torontoblue wrote:Driftwood Twenty Pounder

I don't always piss in a bottle but when I do...I prefer to call it Dos Equis.

t'is a little too bitter for me, a touch unbalanced, as some would say. Seems to have gone in the opposite direction to the TREE version.Jon Walker wrote:Is it just me or is the Twenty Pounder a bit too hoppy and lacking in malt backing?
