They had plenty of it at Village Beer, but just the Yulesmith. I remember hearing about Buffalo getting old stock of this beer years ago but this is definitely from this years release. Also managed to snag a growler of 10th Anniv. Ruination at VB.TheSevenDuffs wrote:Hold on there ... Alesmith is in Buffalo now????????Cale wrote:
Alesmith Summer Yulesmith - nice to see a fresh batch of this in Buffalo!
Mike - Can't comment on Elysian as I've only had the one brew, but I certainly recommend that one.

A shark on whisky is mighty risky. A shark on beer is a beer engineer.

Thanks Cale. I read in a BA thread that Buffalo got just the Summer Yulesmith. We can only hope that leads to more (like Speedway).Cale wrote:They had plenty of it at Village Beer. Last night at Piper's Pub and Smokin' Joes:
Fat Heads Gudenhoppy Pils (draught)
Elysian IPA (draught)
Terrapin Side Project Phlux Capacitor (draught)
Off to Primanti Brothers and 1 For The Road then heading back home. Had an awesome time in Pittsburgh!

All good my friend. Couldn't find the stout but the IPA was excellent!Cale wrote: Can't comment on Elysian as I've only had the one brew, but I certainly recommend that one.

Anchor Steam draft in SF. It has a definite German hop accent IMO, the mineral side of the taste and a touch of clove. This isn't new, I got a similar profile on the last trip a few years ago (and before that too).
I don't get any American hopping in it although there may be.
Very tasty, it reminds me of a good alt beer. The bottled one is good but doesn't really deliver the taste of the fresh draft.
