They ran out of Susan when I was in line back in October. I still walked away with five growlers (Abner x 3, Everett, and Life Without Principles #3)...but man, I really wanted some Susan. It's ridiculously good -- one of the best IPAs I've ever had.J343MY wrote:working my way through a growler of Hill Farmstead Susan.

Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

What're you drinking right now?
Yeah, its a little nerve-racking when you are in line watching people in front of you leave with growler after growler, and you're hoping the beer you really want to get doesn't run out before you get to the counter.Gavin wrote:They ran out of Susan when I was in line back in October. Last night at The Loose Moose, after watching the Leafs flail around the ice for three hours:
Great Lakes Brewing Lake Effect IPA (draught)
Oast House Imperial Rye Porter (draught)
Quite impressed with the new beer menu and it seems like they're starting to attract a different crowd too. Compared to the last time that I visited, when Boston Lager and Tankhouse were the only craft options available, there weren't nearly as many patrons on the verge of vomiting. Granted it was a Monday night, so I'm not sure if the weekends are still mayhem.

Pugnacious Pale Ale (cask): at C'est What the other day, one of the best North American pale ale casks ever IMO, with a big fresh hit of hops on a good flavoured but lean body - pale ale was supposed to be well-attenuated and this one is. Rather outpaces the bottled version.
Beer Academy Cascadian Black Ale: this is the bottled version, gaining authenticity by being unfiltered. Excellent effort, a rounded, more approachable style of Black IPA - like a lighter version of Netherworld but sometimes you want that. In general this brewery is improving and its golden ale/kolsch for example currently is a world class beer IMO - except guys I would filter it.

Last night at beerbistro:
Rodenbach (draught)
Victory Prima Pils (bottle) - amazingly still fresh-tasting and hoppy as ever despite arriving in April (I think)
Dieu du Ciel! Corne du Diable (draught)
Victory Storm King Imperial Stout (bottle) - easily the best imperial stout available in T.O. right now; not cheap at $9.85/bottle but definitely worth it

Aroma seemed a bit off-putting, but the taste wasn't bad. English in style as with most other Welly brews. Worth a try but overpriced IMO due to packaging, $10 for a 750mL flip-top. If you ever come down to Kitchener I have 2 more, plus more we can havecratez wrote:How is this?Kish84 wrote: Wellington Yuletide Barleywine
