or this year's batch of imperial saison that i will be bottling soonish?
Another Killa Gorilla? That stuff was awesome. Very Belgian... sort of a farmhouse ale that wasn't constrained by style... part saison, part strong dark, all killer!

yup, pretty similar recipe to last year, except bigger - the OG was 13 points higher (1.107). i need to check the FG and see just how big it got. last year's batch hit 90% attenuation, which would put this one somewhere around 13% (up from last year's 11.4%). it'll probably be corked+caged with a label similar to last year's batch.
and your assessment is about right for what i was going for. i basically took our standard dirty ape saison and brewed it as a 5gal batch rather than 10, adding a little darker grain (last year was chocolate wheat, this year special b) and a little more hops to balance it out. fermented nice and warm with a big ol' yeast cake from the regular saison.
King Brewery Dark Lager. I've been wanting to try this one for a while and it just showed up out of the blue today at my Lickbow. Awesome stuff, so damn sessionable, I love it.
Amsterdam Strong Spring Bock... with some aging, the roasted grain is almost gone & the dark caramel & fruit has really come forward. Great stuff (though my opinion may be a little biased).
Followed by a night cap of a Blueberry mead my wife did over 10 years ago!
I'm digging the Ola Dubh 12, it's really good. A slightly heavier Engine Oil recipe kinked out with peatly single-malt flavors (not really a scotch drinker here, so this is a little new but i'm liking this.)
I hope you all can all get your hands on a few or arrange with friends to try at least one or two. This ain't your average Innis & Gunn, that's for damn sure.
