a couple of times in recent weeks
Creemore Boundless IPA
I liked this a lot. The hops were present but not overbearing. I would probably call this a Pale Ale instead of an IPA

tonight
Folly Heist Sour Pale Ale
There are so many sour-type beers available now. I like trying them, but for many, one is enough. But I'm really liking this one. It's not too sour, making it more drinkable than some I've had.

Maclean's LazyHazyIPAzy

Nice flavour, but thin body to go with the 4.8% alcohol. I generally like the heavier IPAs, but can't say this one isn't OK when arriving home from work on a hot, humid summer's day.

Nickel Brook Party Dad

Funny name and label, it's billed as a "Crushable IPA" due to the 3.5% alcohol. But this is a real disappointment. Very thin and just not enough flavour to make up for it.

Bronan Vermont IPA - second time having this, better than first. I could quaff a few of these walking around Street Fest.

Happy Jazz Weekend Friday!

A Mini-Session of cans from my local heroes on Coxwell:

Godspeed Gokurosama Kölsch Style Ale
Godspeed Světlý Ležák (12°) Czech Pilsener / Světlý
Godspeed Hagoromo Helles (new, incredibly floral and herbal, struck me as quite different.)
Godspeed Tmavy Lezak Czech Dark Lager

I would definitely at least check out the outstanding Kölsch, the various really satisfying Ležák beers if you have not yet had a chance.

Enjoyed a few of these last week, a hazy hoppy Citra ale. Canned July 8 from Superstore. My new fave!

Rogue Combat Wombat. I really enjoy it and think it might be a good Sour for people who don’t actually like Sours.

Yeah. It's hard to put my finger on what I like about this one, but it has a certain je ne sais quoi that makes it enjoyable IMO.

Empties
Omnipollo Raspberry Aniara - SO TART
Crooked Stave Sour Rose
Lost Craft Tropical Radler - The Pineapple Juice makes this radler.
Left Field Squeeze Play Black Currant
Evil Twin E is for Elderberry
Collective Arts Hazy State - I prefer State of Mind
Collective Arts IPA No. 10
Beau's Radler - I found this radler similar to the Budweiser Grapefruit Radler.
Cameron's Jurassic IPA
Mill St. Rhuby Cove - good flavours here but way too thin
Mill St. Kombucha Radler
Mill St. Stock Ale
Fourpure Coastline
Brickworks Lemonade Cider Radler
Lost Craft Apple Cider
Great Lakes Brewery Robohop - great beer and still all time great label :)
Side Launch Hibiscus Sour - everything was good with this beer until I read "natural raspberry flavor"
Hometown Brewing Company Blue County Blueberry Saison
Ace Hill Hard Kombucha
Granville Island False Creek Raspberry Ale
Budweiser Jim Beam Copper Lager - surprisingly good 8)
Bobcaygeon Northern Lights
Royal Canadian Mead - Feels Like Friday

Note: I found IPA No. 10 and Hazy State remarkably similar looking, similar hop additions, both have hop burn and moderate to high carbonation. not sure I like the direction Collective Arts beers are heading.

I found Hazy State and IPA #10 to be good but below the vast majority of beers I’ve had from the brewery. However, I didn’t care for the Pina Colada Sour very much at all. Just a bad combo for me perhaps.

I haven't tried the Pina Colada Sour. Left Field has one. I really enjoyed IPA No. 4, IPA No. 5 and the Liquid Arts Milkshake IPA :D I didn't care for the Sour Pumpkin Ale and wish they make a new seasonal for Fall like a Gruit or Harvest ale or ANYTHING.

Big Rock The Darcys Poolside Grapefruit Lager

If you like Radlers or light fruity lagers on a hot summer's day, then I would recommend.....you choose something other than this one. I like many of the beers of this type that I have tried, but this one was bleh.

In Normandy, I am drinking a local brew called Northmen Biere Brune by Ferme Brasserie La Chapelle. There is lots of malt complexity, with plenty of roasty coffee notes, chocolate, raisin etc. Half way between a double and a stout, I would recommend it.

Also, I have enjoyed some local cidre here.
