Tonight is my first ever Nevada brewed beer in Tenaya Creek Hop Ride IPA.
My girlfriend brought back some Nevada goodies from her recent trip.

I have one to share as well!

Hop Ride was alright, but I found it to be a bit lacking both in rye and IPA levels of bitterness

How was it?

I liked it quite a bit. It`s 7% but feels like it is 10 in terms of body.
Very fruity, juicy and fresh, with a high bitterness. I noted a bit of a metallic hit on the finish but it didn`t really detract. Definitely worth picking up.

I have two more bottles plus I got two bottles of Hop Box, and Gordon Biersch IPB. Probably trying one of them tonight.

Hey, fair enough. To each their own!
In fairness, nowhere on the packaging does it mention the addition of rye, or the use of rye in any way. That might be why you found it lacking in rye. Kinda makes sense.

Was pretty sure the bottle I had referred to it being a rye beer, but I may be mistaken.

Here the description from ratebeer.com:

"This beer is brewed using 2-Row, wheat, Vienna and caramel malts and is hopped with Summit’s for bittering and flavor and Ahtanum for aroma. This IPA was also dry-hopped, meaning hops were put in the fermentors and serving tanks to give a big citrus and spicy aroma, with Ahtanum, Challenger and Chinook hops. Our IPA is an American style IPA that has a high amount of bitterness but is well balanced and very drinkable."

My bottle has a different description, which is a little more tongue-in-cheek, but does not mention rye either.

I'm probably confusing it with the Red Ryder, there is a lot of that week in Vegas where the details remain hazy...

How was the Aphrodite? I've got a bottle I haven't cracked into yet.

Sounds tasty! Seems like it's pretty hard to come by too, only 30 ratings on BA.
