TBH, I dumped my last glass of Boulevard Plaid Habit (it always makes my head fuzzy) and am now really liking Godspeed Světlý Ležák (12°) poured into a pint glass.

Tuesday notes I mistakenly posted elsewhere:
Having a few of my local Godspeed Umi Gose, this is extremely nice.

As usual, there are firm authentic nods to the traditional style, perfectly sour and salty. But there is also a stylish modern thing of added very clean dryness, citrus and hop that makes this quite layered. The palate is refreshing and the flavours are long.

Hi there Random Talkers,

Opening a DeSchutes Black Butte XXX for lunch. Bottle from LCBO. It's quite full flavoured with a boozy oak hit, and definitely rich. Some nice spicy and lightly grassy hops. Demerara typical of Butte, if you like that - I'm indifferent. Chocolate and roasty coffee, malty, dark fruit. It looks great black-brown pour with cognac highlights. Lingering booze on the long and relatively complete dry / rich palate.

8 varieties of barrel. I'm getting some bourbon, don't know why the hell they added soy powder but maybe for palate.100% barrel aged imperial Porter, kinda special in an Impy way but different.

Bench Brewing Strawberry Grove Sour. Nice looking beer. Quite cloying on the nose but pulls it together a bit on the taste. Not nearly as sour as I’ve recently come to enjoy from the style. Average at best for me personally.

From the LC, a Bockor Omer traditional Blonde.

Nice stuff, and reminds me of some good Quebec Belgian Blonde Ales.

Fairweather Old soul-a perfectly balanced beer with layers on layers of flavours all carried by the perfectly carbonated silky smooth body.
Fairweather Small hours-blackcurrent sour stout that was really good and unique.
Fairweather Happy accident-can never go wrong with anything hoppy from Fairweather. There seems to be an underlying sort of background dankness that I love in all their hoppy beers.
Proppeler ESB-I love a good esb, and I feel they’re really quite hard to find in Ontario. This one will be in my fridge regularly as long as it’s around.
Barncat Barrel 5&6-red wine barrel sour. Super crisp, clean and refreshing. Nice sourness and complexity with the wine barrel really showing on the finish. Excellent.
Elora brewing Pilsner-didn’t really feel this one, not sure it’s that much better than a macro Pilsner tbh.
Elora Australias borealis-a take on their flagship pale ale, changing the hop profile to Nelson sauvin and galaxy. It’s a tasty drink that would be beautiful on the patio. Nice big tropical flavours.

Collective Arts Sour with peach, passion fruit & raspberry.

Compared to the Bench Brewing Sour I reported on a couple of days ago it isn’t even a fair fight.
