I had the 2008 version this past weekend, and got pretty much the same flavours coming through. Was very interesting towards the bottom of the bottle when all the 'sludge' was later added; delicious.

Still got an '06 to crack open one day, unless Viggo really insists he wants it back!!

But tonight it was:

Muskoka Mad Tom - finally made it to Alberta. A real nice, citric, hoppy, balanced IPA.

Muskoka Summer Weisse - A real nice, fresh tasting weisse.

Phillips Amnesiac - nice subtle change in recipe, doesn't appear to come across as sweet as previous.

Mad Tom IPA (draught)
RJ Sainte Paix Pamplemousse (bottle, weird ass beer that tastes like a flat five alive)
Charlevoix Triple (classic)
Tree Captivator Doppelbock (meh, but drinkable)
Chatoe Rogue Single Malt (surprisingly good)

Decided to open my bottle tonight hoping for a refreshing beer after a softball game in 30 degree heat. Didn't like it at all. way too much ginger.
I happen to like ginger. It goes raw in my carrot juice. I drink that powerful Maine Ginger Root Brew, and those naturally-made Reids Ginger Beers - so this beer was up my alley.

Perhaps people should have it with Jamaican food like Stew Beef, Jerk Chicken, fried plantain and so on. That would be about perfect.

If you love the Ginger, next time your in Michigan try to get your hands on some blenhams ginger ale. It comes in regular and extra spicy. I always get a couple of 6ers when visiting Plum in Ann Arbour

Some homebrew ginger beer, then stopped into the Judge for a free 2/3 pint of RPA, and Lake of Bays IPA on cask. Then it was home to Boneshaker and Mad Tom while I grilled some Lake Ontario salmon that my buddies folks caught that morning!

Jason's? Good stuff. I'm brewing a ginger wit this afternoon, and had a Fantome and a Ballast Point Sculpin IPA with Matt7215, he dropped by.

Yes sir! He's been offering it up to anyone who gets within ten yards of his house :). We both agreed that it could have used more ginger in order to give it a better bite, but at under 4% it's a nice thirst quenching quaff! I hope I get a chance to sample the ginger wit, your blood orange heffe was outstanding. And make sure you hit Jay up for some fish!

Weihenstephaner so far today, in my new branded glass while out on the deck. Can't think of a better way to beat the heat!

One of my two bottles of pan-ontario OCB barrel aged beers.

I can appreciate it a lot more now that I'm not sampling a hundred other beers at the same time.

Smoky Vanilla, Good bite from three IPAs that were used. I was at one point considering holding on to a bottle for a bit, but I now realize that would be foolish as the IPAs blend in so nicely with the other beers.

So I can't imagine the other bottle will survive the week!

Crazy Canuck and Tempest earlier. Now a Chimay Grande Resrve about to crack a boneshaker or two before heading over to a birthday at a molson bar. Not sure if im going to drink rye, fosters, or guinness over there.. Hopefully I get a decent buzz before having to drink either of them.
