Side Launch Dry-Hopped Sour. Can from LCBO. A decent, affordable and light-drinking alternative to Bellwoods Jelly King. Nice tart and sour-sweet tropical fruit like guava and papaya. Hints lemon, lingering sour finish. Makes nice creamy white rings on glass.

Stopped by GLB on the way home. Just had an Octopus Wants to Fight (solid as usual). Onto Grimace's Tears which is much better than I remember it being last year in the generic can/label; subtle and pleasant strawberry finish, nice creamy mouthfeel. No overpowering sweetness whatsoever. Funny can art too, although GLB needs to do something about that ugly font already lol. This year's Karma Citra is on deck.

Belgian wrote:A bottle of Nickel Brook Über Peach Berliner Weisse, from Summerhill where I also got a Pineapple Über this week!

They are all similarly tart and dry and the fruit is subtle, this is lightweight fare yet the good pale pit fruit flavors are there and a whiff of peach orchard funk in the fragrance. Six bucks a 500ml. LOL. Crushable summer beer.

Next Über - here the Pineapple is present as is an added lightly candy-ish sweetness, almost hauling this into Belgian novelty ale territory. You could drink three of these fruited Über in 20 minutes. They are not designed to be sippers.
Also having the same two beers on a Saturday afternoon. Wonderful colour on both. I picked up the pineapple more than the peach, which I just opened. They also have the raspberry at my local, so I will likely pick one up tomorrow. Both are immensely crushable.

Over the past few days.:

Allagash Dubbel. The best American brewed Dubbel I’ve had.
Hill Farmstead Madness and Civilization 10. Great beer, mediocre book.
Six Point BBA 3 Beans. Nice.
Town Idaho 7 Bungalow. More flavourful and fuller bodied than the average session beer.
Bellwoods Dry-Hopped Gose. Another fine Gose from Bellwoods.

At Stone City Ales in Kingston today.

All sample size

Uncharted IPA
Other Side Anniversary IPA
Hard To Say DIPA
Yacht Rock Gose
Little Situation Session Ale
Ships in the Night Oatmeal Stout

Quite impressed with all except the last, which was overly thin and lacking in any significant flavour appeal.

Also had a full pint of one of their guest taps, Left Field Big Train IPA.

Ha that's funny, I was there too from about 5:30 to 6:30.

Hard To Say DIPA
Little Situation Session Ale

Sat at the window bar. I like Kingston in summer very much. Warm weather does good things here.

I also noticed the positive influence of the warm weather and by the window, where I also was, is an ideal location to watch the comings and goings on Princess Street.

Number 6 from Collective Arts. They weren't on the shelf yet. Took them out of the case that was on the employee's cart.

Collective Arts Project #6 Peach IPA - an easily crushable summer ale for a mere five bucks, fun to drink

Stone City Ales Party Bus IPA - a superior quaff with major hop character, not just citrus but mint and rooty herbals

It's a small sample size, but I noticed that on BA number 6 is rated significantly lower than the previous five. I think it's a matter of expectations, mine included. it's a very nice beer, but certainly subtler than its predecessors. I don't think people were expecting (or wanting?) subtle.

So has anyone tried this year's Muskoka Harvest Ale? I'm really curious as I was disappointed in what I felt was a major flavour profile change last year. It went from being a deeper amber with a good bitterness and grassy, herbal hops to something lighter, fruitier and too sweet with an almost bubblegum note. I miss the earlier incarnations and am holding out hope that it has returned to form somewhat.
