I Am A Winner!
I Am A Winner!
Hey - just received an e-mail informing me that I won a secondary prize in the OCB's "Craft Brewer For A Day" contest.
While I didn't win the chance to brew my own at one of the OCB facilities (how cool would that be?) - I have won $300 worth of "swag". Most likely t-shirts, mugs and openers.
Wonder how my kids will look going off to school in Wellington and Mill Street t-shirts?

Funny thing is that I had to fax in a photocopy of my "age of majority" card!
I'm 44, and have been buying beer since I was 15. I have honestly only been ID'd a handful of times - usually in the states two decades ago.
Thanks to Ontario's archaic drinking laws - ie. no beer related glasses can be given out to anyone under 19 - I feel young again.

I received the prize pack. $300 worth of stuff? Well, I'm not complaining, but...
6 nice beer glasses, a Beau's brewery trucker hat, an apron, president's choice bar-b-q tools and some caramel corn.
Fun stuff.
My daughter asked why they didn't send beer with the prize pack. I could just shake my head sadly...
She did enjoy drinking her apple juice out of a Nickel Brook draft glass though.

That's hardly $100.00 worth of stuff.
Must have been that really good caramel corn then................
