Thanksgiving Beer Choices

Post by heebes »

So whats everyone planning on cracking open for Thanksgiving?

I imagine the Muskoka Harvest should go over well, probably a Peche Mortel or two as well.

Anybody bringing something special from the cellar up?

Having a Great Pumpkin Ale right now, I'm sure to bust open a Muskoka Harvest before the weekend is done.

Had a few buffalo bill pumpkin while making dinner tonight. Also had some home made cider that I bottled november '09 tasting very nice. Finally has a nice pronounced apple taste. Its also bone dry, and a carbonated.

Really? I brined a turkey, and it turned out well, but maybe I'll give this a shot next time.

I drank a light homebrew saison in the afternoon to slake my thirst while slaving in the kitchen. Just had a homebrew Monks Elixir with dessert after I finished cleaning up. Now I'm debating whether I deserve that 2-year old bottle of Bear Republic Black Bear Stout that is sitting in my fridge...

Orval... though I think a saison is a better match to turkey dressing.

With the turkey dinner, I had a Au Maitre Brasseur Belge Ambree. It was a little boozy but with the meal it worked quite well.

Before and after dinner included homebrewed ESB and stout, Great Lakes Pumpkin (with pie), Blackberry Porter, and a couple mediocre beers from Gahan in PEI.
