Both May 3rd and 10th are good dates for me.Every other day in May sucks for me (too much travelling). I also think that Chesters would be a good option, I havn't been there in years. As for food, I know the JUdge's menu is quite good (although mainly meat dishes - sorry Greg) and I think Al might put something together for the group.

I also think I might have an extra seat sold, depending on the date.

OK great, it looks like we have a lot of interest for this.

I've put my limited programming skills to work and set up a form to sign up for the trip. This will definitely help keep us organized with numbers and dates.

Please fill out the form here if you are interested. I'll keep everyone updated on how many folks we have, and of course let's all chat about the itinerary.

(Any problems with the form, please let me know!)

Hey, thanks for thinking of me! It's lonely being the token vegetarian...

Most pubs tend to do either fish & chips (I still eat seafood) or a veggie burger. If they've got either, I'm good.

Ken @ Black Oak is in for either weekend. Does anyone know Paul from Pepperwood and Al from the Judge to contact them about this?

Ok, since both weekends are ok for most people, let's book it for May 10th. That weekend would be better for Cameron's.

I've got an update from the bus company - they need this booked by next week. So, please register if you're interested! If we don't get enough registrants we'll have to hold off on the trip for now. But it would be fun.

Pretty freaking cool, Cass.

Some thoughts on the itinerary. Well not really but the timing. How long do we expect to spend at each stop. I figure we have 2 hours travel time. That leaves us 5 hours for tours and tasting. That leave about an hour more or less at each stop. An hour at the breweries seems reasonable, but an hour at the Pepperwood & the Judge seems short, especially if we are eating. We might want to start firming up some times. We may want to delay the return time to 10:00 or 11:00. Just a thought.

I'd offer to help organize things here in Hamilton, but I'm still not an insider at the Judge and don't know them that well. Someone else might be more effective. Nonetheless, if no one else will take up the cause, I will.

Cheers, Joe.

Hey Joe:
Perhaps if we tag team Al, Bill and Maria we can convince them this is a worthy cause. I agree with your timing scenario. Let me know if you can meet me at the Judge sometime in the next week.

I think this should be possible for me, along with a friend of mine. I'll know for sure by Tuesday.

Here's hoping! It sounds like fun.

Hi Y'all
You would be welcome to come out and visit on either of those dates. (I should have all the doors locked and barred by that time..)
We can try some beer from the fermenters and the Bright tanks. This will depend on what's in them at the time and what stage of production they are in.
I'm a little tired from the bad weather driving and the Hamilton beer Festival. Turned out better than I expected but the weather is having an effect.
(Most of us are playing spot the mullet and drinking each others beer---talk about fridge benefits)

PS I forgot:
Please don't refer to Black Oak as "BO" It just doesn't give the image that we are spending countless unwashed and sweaty hours over in our development.
If you could please use "BOB" for Black Oak Brewing.
Most of us here bathe at least once a week.

Yours in a very non stinky way
Ken
Cheers!!!!

The response so far has been great - we're up over 20 signups  This is gonna be a great trip.

DAN-D-MAN has generously contacted Paul @ the Pepperwood, so we'll work out the details with him. And Jeff/Joe - if you guys could contact the Judge that would be most appreciated.

I agree with the timing issues - we'll check with the bus company to see if we can go a bit earlier or stay later.

I should be going to see Al at the Judge on Saturday Afternoon, if anyone wants to meet-up for a pint. I can speek to him then. In previous discussions they seemed open to a Bartowel visit.

Gunny and I spoke with Maria yesterday. I've passed the details on to Cass. Basically just bbq and salads. Individual orders would not work. She offered us the patio.

Anyway, they are aware and are looking forward to hosting us.

OK, I've closed down the registration page - I think we've hit capacity. We will have around 30 people, which I think is just about as much as we could expect the Pepperwood or the Judge to accomodate.

As mentioned, Joe & Gunny spoke to the Judge about burgers for food at the Judge. I'm thinking about tacking on that cost ($12 or so) to the bus cost, so everyone's cost (non-beer) would cover the bus and food at the Judge. Sound good?
