I know I'm preaching to the choir, but beer is going to save the world:

Seems like a good theory :-) I think there was a thread a long ways back about the brewing industry in Toronto and how it used to employ aot of folk in the Cabbagetown area.

This is the theory behind pro-sports and other bulk entertainment. If you have non-productive people (as too many economists consider the poor), they might as well contribute to the economy by consuming something.

A more interesting take is how large centralized enterprises like macro brewers can be displaced by entrepreneurs serving and employing locally and potentially being more agile businesses. Yeah, this is preaching to the choir here, but besides better beer, we are also witnessing a more interesting business culture.
Brands are for cattle.
Fans are cash cows.
The herd will consume until consumed.
