Sounds good, I think I will make it. So how do we find each other once we're in the Loon? (Assuming everybody else doesn't already know each other)

Oh, and any suggestions of where to park? I don't get down that way very often.

I'll be the sexy one, easily recognized.

Seriously though, I'll bring a Bar Towel and put it on my table.

Should be pretty easy to spot.

Well, it doesn't look like I can make it after all. Have fun everyone, and please keep this thread updated if you plan to do it again sometime. I'd love to meet everyone and pick the brains of some other beer nuts.

First tasting will be January 14th at Zuma's place. From there on we should do it monthly.

I'll let Zuma send out details when we get around to January.

Had fun last nite. Loon was crappy though. Bad food, with limited beer selection, and no bourbon!

Looking forward to the 14th.

How are we handling the tasting? Are we doing it as a theme or style?

Bring a bottle to get in the door?

I like starting big. We can go epic on the first try, then a few ideas:

- Blind tastings challenging pre-conceived ideas
- Style-themed
- Food pairings (bite sized of course)
- Style-benders (pick the imposter)
- Aged verticals (pooling together seperate vintages of a single product)

etc.

First up, apologise for not making the A&L meet last week. Even though it's not that far for me the suns did not align and dark forces conspired against me. Super keen for some meet ups to see whats on tap around the town. Certainly if the A&L could tweet more often about what they've got on tap i'd be far more inclinced to become a regular. January is far enough ahead that i'm sure it'll not be a problem, i'll be back from Scotland by then so hopefully i can pick up a few of my favourites to impress you all with.

Slainte!
David

Hey guys!

The first tasting at Zuma's (Still able to host? - confirm via PM plz) is coming up.

To be aware of who's coming and who isnt, please drop me a PM just so I can get a list going. Also, since this is a saturday, we can go big on the first one.

My suggestion, bring a shareable bottle (no 250ml unless you have more than one) of something awesome, and something BIG. Can be big in flavour, alcohol, rarity, weirdness, anything fitting the theme BIG. =)

I cant wait to raise a few with you guys! I also know what I'll bring.

So far, we have 6 people coming, but our host just announced he is unable to provide us with a venue on saturday due to other obligations.

Is there anyone willing to host this tasting, or do we try a different date?

So far, would come:
- iguenard
- Lubière
- Brews Phillips
- cfrancis
- The Mick + gf
- sprinx

Maybe's:
- s.morris

Ian, I don't know if The Mick's girlfriend will like being considered a non-person. ;)

Sorry about not being able to host folks, but it can't really be avoided. We will have to try to arrange a future tasting at my place.

I can host, as I have plenty of space.

Shillington and Merivale area (Westgate Mall), close to the 417, plenty of parking.

If you can bring your glassware (but I do have lots too...)

How does that sound?
