Ummm... Yup.
so....March, then?
Well...I shouldn't poop on a parade - Let's just hope the red tape isn't too bad on this one since it's local, and it'll be awesome I'm sure when it does get here. Other "new" Ontario beers (Augusta Ale, Hops and Robbers) didn't take too long to get into the 'BO after they were canned...Hopefully it'll be here soon, or we'll be trekking up to Bracebridge...

I would (like to) think that Muskoka has their shit together enough that label approval and samples for lab were sent out well in advance so that they can with reasonable certainty say a release date for the LCBO. They aren't a start up by any means. It's possible that the LCBO could cause some delays but Muskoka is known and solid commodity for them so I would think they'd be just fine.

We're not just testing a new beer for colera & bubonic plague...

We're feeding the mouths of families - hundreds of LCBO lab employees need to justify their year-round paycheques!

Maybe if it were estrella damm or birra moretti, but I think they'd be testing for cholera in this beer.

8.4% 70ish IBU's. A little low for a DIPA, but beggars can't be choosers.

Year round offering in 4 packs.
Released in 2 weeks - will be sold at Muskoka Retail and LCBO.

Some different hops:

Columbus, Aurora and Millenium.

Muskoka just keeps getting better. Proud to say it's my local.

Just got off the phone with the brewery. They have already had the lab tests and are approved by the LCBO. Bottling on the 20th and start shipping on the 22nd. Price is $12.95 a 4 pack.

They're probably just testing for madness. If you promise it on the label, the LCBO wants evidence. They're just looking out for us after all and they don't want a raft of complaints and bitching on BT about how they allowed a "twice as mad" product to come up short on IBUs and ABV on their watch.

Does anyone else think that the price is a little high on this one? I was guessing somewhere between 10-11.

Not really - I guess you could argue that 8.4% is a little low for a DIPA, but considering that it's around the same price as 6 regular Mad Tom's it doesn't bug me that much.

Also - the St. Ambroise Pumpkin is 4 pk (5%) is $10, and I wouldn't expect this beer to be in that price range.

Works out to 3.25 a bottle, which isn't bad, IMO.

This is being priced the same as green flash, sure its a percent and change higher but the big difference is they are only two hours away and shipping costs are minimal as opposed to coming in from southern california. Im guessing there is some serious profit in this one.

I guess so, when you factor in transportation, but I'd actually pay more for something fresher and more local and .

Jeff, I get it. I just figured because it was somewhat local it wouldn't be so aggressively priced. Come to think of it, most of their brews especially their seasonals are priced similar.

Wasn't Camerons RPA something like $16 a six pack? (and well worth it IMO). Have to expect these big specialty beers to have higher cost for ingredients.
