Goose Island to Canada....?

And Labatt is also planning on bringing Goose Island beers to Canada soon, Mr. Socquet said. The small Illinois brewery, which AB Inbev purchased in 2011 for $39-million (U.S.), is known for a variety of creative flavours, such as a Belgian-style pale ale aged in wine barrels with raspberries, and a Nut Brown Ale that claims “notes of chocolate, honey, and fine tobacco.”

Isn't the "rumor" that it's going to be Sophie and Matilda?

I guess PeenSteen knows his stuff...

They must be hurting in sales of their regular piss beers. Good, I hope it continues. I won't be buying this beer.

Passing up Sofie and Matilda? Best of luck with your beer drinking goals of 2013. I'll have all of them.

never understood this mentality.
if it is a good beer, then drink it. still support your non-corporate small guys whenever possible, but isn't the goal also to encourage the big guys to up their game?

I've had them before, but I don't mind buying them again. I still like Goose Island regardless of who owns it. my guess is that we get Honkers at some point over the next year.

For anyone who has a 2012 bottle, My last Madame Rose was in fine form.

Exactly, some Molbatt/BMC-scale brewers are taking notice of companies like Sierra Nevada and Sam Adams. Significantly, SN and SA both make some kick-ass beers and do a good job distributing them, with excellent QC on a big scale.

Does that make 'big' always 'bad' - no way. The 'Macro' reputation only extends to inferior beer quality of some brands.
