When I got my case, Blake put a bottle on the counter, but then turned to put the last of my 24 in the box, "and said here's another for you". I assumed the bottle he placed on the counter was one for another case.
I then left. With the apparently free bottle of barrel aged Tempest sitting on the counter.

Ah man, I wonder if you fire him an email if he'd put one a side for you if you came in on the weekend. They've more than likely got more in the back. When I got my bottle I was told the same as a few others, that it was just a bottle of last years that has been sitting. Glad I know that it's been oak aged for a year. Will be trying both tonight I think.

I already sent Blake the email, so hopefully, but it's my own dumb fault.

Surprised it lasted the 48 hour mark. Great for folks who could only make it down on the weekend - Just came from the (packed) brewery (@ about 3:00) and it looked like 40-50 or so left.

Well if it had been barrel-aged it definitely shouldn't be free! And huge thanks just the same. How well did the barrel aging go anyway (sometimes it's a little overrated.)
I'm just happy Amsterdam made this fine beer again, and that it is as good as last time (guys, try aging it half a year). I'm also glad I didn't hog so much of it that I'm depriving other people. This is an exceptional beer which I'd like other customers to have a crack at.
Hope this can be a tradition as well. Beers like this and the ever-better Boneshaker are all about what Amsterdam needs to become.
