Brothers Beer Bistro - Ottawa

Post by The Mick »

Has anybody heard much about this? All I've been able to gather so far is that they will be opening in the market on Dalhousie, and they are planning to have a decent range of micros available. Looks like it could be a great addition to the city!
I don't always drink beer ... because sometimes my friends win and we have to go to macro-only establishments.

What is your opinion of Boba Fett?

Rank yourself on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the best) on each of the following items:

That'll filter out the douchebags or the weaklings.

Was talking to the guys opening this place and it's sounding promising. They're going to have 16 lines, all micro, 2 cask lines, and they didn't say where from or who it is, but the chef is suppose to be really good too. Opening mid-May is the plan.

I am one of the owners of Brothers and I just want to thank you guys for the support! We are doing 16 on tap, 2 casks (the brewery will change weekly to keep it fresh and exciting!) and roughly 60 bottled beers from around the world. We are still looking for a early to mid May open so stay tuned.

Beer menu is underwhelming, I had higher hopes. That said, looks like their heart is in the right place and things will probably improve as they get more familiar with the beer world.

Yup, but realy, that's the best tap list in the city, as crappy as that is to say. Food is a lot more expensive than I was expecting as well. Definitely not the kind of place I'd make a regular destination, unless the tap list improves significantly.
