Bar Hop

Post by GregClow »

I heard some rumours about this a few weeks ago, and now it's confirmed: Rob Pingitore, ex-Smokeless Joe, is opening a new place called Bar Hop at 391 King St. W. near Spadina.

According to the website, it'll be opening on June 11th - just in time to work the kinks out before OCB Week! - and will be open 4pm-2am daily.

Planned tap list for opening:
Augusta Pale Ale
Beau’s Lugtread
Beau’s Farm Table
Black Oak 10 Bitter Years
Camerons RPA
Church-Key Beachwood
Cheshire Valley Irish Red
Durham Black Katt
Delirium Tremens
Dennison’s Weisse
Dieu du Ciel Dernire Volonte
Dieu du Ciel Hibiscus
Flying Monkey Smashbomb IPA
Fruli
Great Lakes Bourbon Aged Porter
King Pilsner
Muskoka Mad Tom IPA
Muskoka Spring Oddity
Nickel Brook Saison
Thornbury Cider
La Trappe Tripel
Unibroue Blanche de Chambly
Unibroue Raftman
Urthel Hop it
+ cask TBA

Preliminary bottle list on the website looks great as well. Should be awesome!

That's a pretty impressive list! And the bottle list looks great too. I will definitely check this place out.

AWESOME! That's right across the street from us. It's the former Libra lounge.

He had been talking about various locations and from our last talk it seemed it would be in Ossington. I'm happy it's so much closer!

Had it a while ago - it's like a tamer version of Holy Smoke - I quite liked it.

Unbelievable tap list. Never had the Farm Table, Beachwood, Dernière Volonté, NB Saison, La Trappe Tripel, or Raftman on tap before, so I'll be heading down as soon as it opens. Thanks for the update Greg.

LOL. Actually, I'm an idiot - we both had it at the DDC meet and greet a couple years ago. Too much beer = brutal memory.

We thought it was more like a Scotch ale. Regardless it was quite tasty and we much preferred it over the Holy Smoke.

The excellent beer list excuses the use of Comic Sans on their website.

Looking forward to checking it out.

Well, unless I'm wrong, Holy Smoke is a scotch ale too, but I agree - liked Beechwood a lot more.

Rob had a soft opening last night around 5pm. Nice looking place. Good tap lineup and bottle selection. Food was good too.

They finally managed to pry open the patio doors and setup tables for us.

All around, a good time.

Congrats Rob!

It's a great place. Badly needed in the neighborhood. Solid line up, cask too, great menu. I'd like to see it open earlier than 5pm as I'd most likely go a lot for lunch but that's a minor quibble.

Welcome to the hood !!
