ROGUE ALES OFFER

Post by esprit »

Many of you have been contacting us regarding the Rogue offering we made last year and we apologize for the delay. We are ready to proceed shortly but wish to re-confirm existing orders and, hopefully, secure additional orders.

Pricing will be approximately as follows:

Premium 12 x 650ml $75.60
Regular 12 x 650ml $72.00
Premium 24 x 355ml $74.40
Regular 24 x 355ml $68.40

Prices for Super Premium on request but they're in the range of $90 per case of 6 x 750ml.

After compiling orders, we will confirm which products will actually be ordered and give you an opportunity to change you order. We will ask you to fill out and send us an LCBO Lab Waiver and we'll ask for a deposit of about $25 per case. We expect the product to arrive within a month. If you've ordered from us before just confirm whether you in Toronto (area bounded by 427, 401 and DVP) and will pick up from us or whether you're out of town and want the beer transferred to an LCBO store of your choice at no charge.

Beers available for this promo (see www.rogue.com for beer descriptions) are as follows but I should warn that the products with asterisks (*) after the name are less likely to be ordered unless we have a huge demand for them. Please feel free to order them just understand that we may have to come back to you and advise that they will not be coming in.

Just to make it clear, do the Super Premium beers come in cases of 6 or 12? Should the line above read: $90 per case of 12 x 750ml?

$15 per bottle? Yikes. :o Compared to the 12oz. bottles, that's a big jump in the price per volume.

I expect that part of that is that your paying a lot for the fancy pants bottles (which are actually pretty cool if you want them), part of it is also that they are pretty decent beers.

Some of these are aliases - Rogue is known to re-name a lot of their beers for different countries. See http://www.ratebeer.com/Brewers/rogue-ales/96/ for a list.

Nice offering Peter!

I agree on both counts. I have no problem paying a premium for larger bottles, particularly for beers like the I2PA and Imperial Stout, which I think are extremely good. But the fact is that the offering price the last time around for these beers (minus the Morimoto) was at a price that was equivalent to around $8-9 per 750ml, and now it's $15. But what are you going to do? The 12oz. bottles are gone, and Rogue has chosen to go in a new direction with the packaging and pricing. Still, I don't think that my comments are unreasonable.

Who will go splits on six Morimoto imperial pilsners with me? I'm good for 2 to 3 depending.

I'm thinking about the Hazelnut Brown and/or the Shakespeare Stout... possibly half of each of someone wants to split them...

I'm down for the splitsville as always... my last attempt at an order never quite made it.

I'm also not a huge drinker, despite being a beer freak, so it would be cool to be able to get some kind of variety pack going. If you need an investor, I'm your man.

Splitting orders is a brilliant idea. I'd do that with Roche 8 and 10.

I can't blame them for making a living, but I might take a pass on the fancy-bottle thing. It makes sense for them to do this with more intensive/costly beers, as with the Amsterdam Framboise (available in normal bottles at the brewery's own store by the way.)

FYI, we probably won't be ordering the Mocha because of insufficient demand because we've already brought in 5 cases in the past 12 months so the next case will result in a $135 lab fee. We need to sell at least 20 cases to make it worthwhile and to keep the price reasonable and that's just not going to happen...the way, it's a lovely brew!

Does the same apply to the Half-A-Weizen?
