Founders coming to Ontario
It's official...
FOUNDERS BREWING CO. EXPANDS DISTRIBUTION TO ONTARIO
Founders Beer Will Be Available in the Canadian Province beginning in February 2013
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Feb. 20, 2012 - Founders Brewing Co. announced today that it is expanding its distribution territory to include the nearby province of Ontario, working with Bruce Ashley Group to get their beer to the LCBO for distribution beginning in February.
“There is a growing craft beer scene in Ontario that we’re excited to be a part of,” said Co-Founder, President & CEO Mike Stevens. “Some great beer enthusiasts from our neighbor to the north have reached out to us over the past few years, and we’re looking forward to supporting that enthusiasm and to supporting recognition of the American craft beer scene internationally.”
Founders’ first shipment to Toronto consisted solely of Centennial IPA bottles. The brewery is hoping to add more beer brands to its Canadian distribution lineup in the next year.

Good on Bruce Ashley for securing Founders, I'm sure just about every agent in Ontario were chasing these guys!
Will be interesting to see if someone like Founders can start to change attitudes towards Ontario amongst US breweries. Clearly the paperwork and headaches will always be a pain, but possible tradeoff worth it with more and more craft drinkers here...

And hopefully this won't be as long on the shelves as the Green Flash.
And hopefully this will be in my belly soon!
I used to sell beer. Now I don't.
Yes. Full scale LCBO release planned for Centennial, as far as I know.MatttthewGeorge wrote:To Toronto? Hopefully they just mean for testing/warehouse.GregClow wrote:Founders’ first shipment to Toronto consisted solely of Centennial IPA bottles.
