New Albion Ale clone (one gallon)

Post by Cagiva650 »

The guys at Basic Brewing are doing a one gallon New Albion Ale clone and are asking others to try their recipie and compare the results. Very simple brew: two pounds of two row, 3 additions of 4 grams of Cascade hops, and ferment with US-05. It was a fun brew. I added a little yeast nutrient and it is bubbling away quite nicely for the third day.

Cheers

I kegged my clone and am now using Gelatin for a few days. My clone had surprising bitterness. The citrus hop taste is light, but I guess this is the style. I'll update more after it is carbed up aged a bit.

After brewing IPA'S for a few years now, it is a big change sampling this beer. It turned out okay, just hard to get used to the citrus hops not being in your face.
