nickelbrook naughty neighbour - while this was better on tap, it is still a nice lightly hopped very drinkable beer. Along the lines of crazy canuck but in a smaller 12oz format

Going to Calgary on Thursday and definitely hope to get my hands on a bottle. Had a Trois Mousquetaires Gose a couple of nights ago that was outstanding and I've really enjoyed Beau's Opa's Gose and Amsterdam/GLB's Maverick and Gose. Quickly becoming a favorite style of mine. While in Calgary, I really hope the Bruery stuff hits the shelves too :D

Why do you say it's a suprising offering from WR? Just the rarity of the style or is it it based on your impression of Wild Rose in general? They've started to do one-off brewers taps at the brewpub on a fairly regular basis, focusing on a lot of more left of center styles and barrel/wood aging. While their mainstream 6 beers are really ho-hum, I find their seasonals and one-offs are excellent. I really hope both their distribution and choice of beers to distribute expands a little so that they start getting the kudos they deserve. Good stuff.

Bruery stuff is getting stip labeled this week, so you may just miss out.

The Gose was surprising from WR as because I didn't mean to write I was surprised. I was actually thinking about Big Rock at the time; What a knob! But still, the past few seasonal releases from WR haven't been all that great. The last decent one was the Hop Smashed In, IMO.

The Gueuze, Kriek, Rose de Gambrinus and Fou Foune. Don't recall the price of the first three (all 375ml), but the Fou Foune is $41. Amazingly, the Fou Foune is $65 at Bellwoods. Pretty incredible price difference!

The Gueuze is $14.95 and I believe the Gambrinus is the same price. The bartender said they only got a few bottles of each beer (6 or less, I think) so they probably won't last long.

Ouch. Was so excited to see the Fou'Foune, we bought a bottle at Bellwoods....assumed most would be in/around the same range. That's quite a discrepancy. As much as I wouldn't like "price fixing", this leaves a really nasty taste in my mouth. I guess with all the press (Toronto Life!) they can get away with charging whatever they feel....but I won't be buying a bottle of "non-Bellwoods" beer there again. Shame.

Half Acre Space IPA
Half Acre Navaja

Well, they have one less bottle of Fou Foune now.

Last night at home:
Mikkeller The Canadian Dream
Nickel Brook Naughty Neighbour American Style Pale Ale

Smart thinking to get down there quickly. You may have bought the last bottle as the barkeep said there were 2 left on Sunday. How is it BTW?

I bought one on Monday (it was fantastic, btw), so I wonder if that is the end of their supply. Remarkably fast, considering Beerbistro's supply has always been similarly priced and doesn't go that quickly.

It was really excellent. I've had some good sour beers in the last month (Trou's Dulcis Succubus, Mikkeller Funky (e) Sauternes Edition) but this really was great. Plus, with buck-a-shuck oysters it was a great little meal. Glad I held off buying it last time I was at Bellwoods. Saved $25!
