Man my grandpa used to drink Old Style Pilsner all the time when I was a kid. I used to think it was the coolest beer because there was a little cartoon on the bottle. Out and about today and was looking for the Nogne Saison. And the LCBO website came through once again: Queen and Coxwell listed 24 - none to be found.
But even better: Queens Quay listed 144 in stock. Awesome. Except, again, none to be found. I asked one of the guys and firstly, he had no idea what the beer was. And then he checked their in-store stock on one of the little handheld zappers by product number and it read zero. His explanation: they all sold already.
I really have trouble believing that 144 bottles of this beer were sold from one store in 24 hours. But what do I know? I ain't even mad.
