The Dangers of Dumbassery

Post by zane9 »

Stephen Beaumont tweeted this link today. A few weeks ago a crackpot calling herself The Food Babe decided that beer has all sorts of "shocking ingredients".

Brewers, both professional and amateur, respond.

Funny thing, I was just kicking around a gueze recipe and thought I should throw in some beaver anal gland. I mean, how much worse could I make it?

I'm just waiting for Bud Light Peanut Butter to come out as population control. "warning, don't let little Jimmy take this to school".

The really sad thing about these foodies is not that so many have misinformed opinions about beer that they insist on sharing (I'm kind of glad they at least try to get the conversation out there), it's that they have just as unreliable things to say about food.
Brands are for cattle.
Fans are cash cows.
The herd will consume until consumed.

Some really great, informative responses from brewers, there.

I knew that piece was going to be brutal after she wrote "lets talk about how the body reacts to alcohol in general" and then totally fails to understand and apply the principles of gastrointestinal physiology and pharmacology. You can't talk about any health issues related to alcohol comsumption if tou get those wrong.
