Some people don't realize how quickly hoppy beers degrade, especially our LCBO overlords.liamt07 wrote:Seriously? Why have you waited so long to drink that?vandutchy wrote:I hear that! Noticeable differences after 1 month, not the same beer after 2.
Or the guy holding onto an ENTIRE CASE of this beer for a few months after it's release.ercousin wrote:Some people don't realize how quickly hoppy beers degrade, especially our LCBO overlords.liamt07 wrote:Seriously? I had always heard this, but never experienced it until now actually.liamt07 wrote:Or the guy holding onto an ENTIRE CASE of this beer for a few months after it's release.ercousin wrote:Some people don't realize how quickly hoppy beers degrade, especially our LCBO overlords.liamt07 wrote: Seriously? As of this past weekend I had 3 cans of Thrust! left, all of which had been refrigerated since buying it on release day it. I've had 2 of the last 3 cans this week and they are very different from the first week of drinking it. It's still very enjoyable but definitely different.
I actually found that it tasted better about 2 weeks after the release once it had time to settle and it's still tasting just as fresh now as it did last month.liamt07 wrote:Seriously? Great, so is that bottle of Bellwoods 2014 Motley Cru I have laying around going to taste like crap now?ercousin wrote:Some people don't realize how quickly hoppy beers degrade, especially our LCBO overlords.liamt07 wrote:Seriously? ^^^Hop-head ^^^
The Motley is a different beast because of all the Brett and the barrels. It's got a whole lot more going on than just being an IPA. That said, I probably wouldn't hang on to it for months and months. I'm going to drink my last sometime this summer.IPA_Lover wrote:
