LCBO Mikkeller Brewery Feature
Okay, I will concede that Mikkeller brews are expensive anywhere you buy them and sometimes a bit of a risk style wise, so I usually buy just one first. Same as if I found them in Buffalo, Danish imports of this caliber tend to be costly to bring in.
I doubt Mikkeller will have that much success in the Ontario market releasing the types of beers the brewer did. I would say the quality is great, but two of the beers were not really to my liking in terms of style.
If Mikkeller had released a stout without chili, or if he had released any of the beer geek breakfast stout instead of that freaky Black, I think those would be a greater success and more in line with the price they would be able to offer at the LCBO.
Far from bashing, I wish The Brewer luck if he returns with more product.

here in mississauga at least. so many bottles on the shelves lolcfrancis wrote:Not in Ottawa. Was in Rideau/King Edward on Monday, arguably the flagship store for Ottawa and all Mikkeller was regular price. A couple of the better stores here have done transfer orders in order to get them on the shelves but now I guess is the time for the full roll out. Laughable that if the two stores had not made special situations in order to get this release, now is when it would hit Ottawa.kevinlater wrote:here in mississauga at least. so many bottles on the shelves lolcfrancis wrote:Not in Ottawa. It seems obvious they didn't plan on sending any your way, then changed their minds when it didn't move in SW Ontario the way they hoped.cfrancis wrote:A couple of the better stores here have done transfer orders in order to get them on the shelves but now I guess is the time for the full roll out. Same story in the two Guelph stores that have it. Lots of stock of everything, besides the black.Belgian wrote:Well, at Queen and Coxwell LCBO there's a big display of Mikkeller beers sitting like a boat anchor. Nobody.… is... buying it. That should've been on discount weeks ago IMO. it's not getting any younger.
