Yeah, no kidding.TheSevenDuffs wrote:I also thought the event was well run, especially considering the space constraints that volo has. The above seasonal temperature yesterday was HUGE, as it allowed the patio to be fully functional without people freezing their asses off.jeremyg wrote:Thought this went really well. The folks at Volo are the best at running these kinds of events.
Really loved all the variants, tho i didn't try the dry one. Not a big dry stout fan.

Couldn't make it on Saturday, but popped into Volo yesterday afternoon. The peach Peche and 2016 special edition were tapped out but I enjoyed the Veniel, classic Mortel, dry and bourbon barrel aged variations as well as some of other stout offerings. Afternoon drinking can be glorious.
I'm really hoping that Argon and other varietal inert gases are making their way into brewing!atomeyes wrote:CO2 tends to accentuate bitterness. makes it pop. that's why cask IPAs are usually really dumb. guessing nitro taps take away that punch that CO2 has. larger air bubbles blah blah science

Sorry I missed this event, Péché is amazing bottle-conditioned of course but the Peach one sounds both hilarious in name and worth a try.

really enjoyed the peach variant. it was very subtle, but worked.Belgian wrote:I'm really hoping that Argon and other varietal inert gases are making their way into brewing!atomeyes wrote:CO2 tends to accentuate bitterness. makes it pop. that's why cask IPAs are usually really dumb. guessing nitro taps take away that punch that CO2 has. larger air bubbles blah blah science![]()

It's funny how different palates can be. It was easily my least favourite of the bunch.jeremyg wrote:Belgian wrote:
