Post by Cass »

Migration Week returning to Toronto from August 8-12. No official details yet. Hopefully it'll include something tasty like the BCBS event from last year.

Here are some preliminary details about the week's events:

Aug 9: Beer dinner with BCBC
Aug 10: Tasting of Sour Sisters: Madame Rose, Halia, Lolita & Juliet
Aug 11: Tasting including Madame Rose, Illinois Imperial IPA & Four Star Pils

No location details just yet.

Awesome to see the Sour Sisters making an appearance - love those ones.

There were some fun people to chat with from the brewery last year. Really nice guys. I also love my goose island T-shirt I got from the event.

Hey Cass, any update on the first two nights? Sounds like they might be industry only?

Here's the latest I know...

Thursday's Tap Takeover will be taking place at Spin Pingpong on King Street from 7pm onwards. Updated list includes Illinois Imperial IPA, Madame Rose, Four Star Pils and Bourbon County Stout which is pretty awesome.

It does seem like the first two nights are industry events - let me see if I can find out more.

Any word on whether we're going to get BCBS in the LCBO again?

No word. IIRC, there was nothing official about the retail release at last year's Migration Week.

I went and I was really disappointed I went. Should've showed up prior to 7, but I was basing my experience on how last year went down (aka BCBS was available the day after). I arrived at 7:30pm, waited in a 30 person line up only to find out all the sours and BCBS were tapped out minus madame rose when I had my turn at the bar (around 8pm). I guess BCBS was tapped out at 7:30pm.

Drank my beverage and left.

Oh wow, didn't realize I was so close to missing out. I showed up around 7:20, got my pours of BCBS and Juliet by 7:45 or so.

The tap list was:
BCBS
Lolita
Halia
Juliet
Madame Rose
Four Star Pils
312 Urban Wheat
Illinois Imperial IPA
Goose IPA
Honkers
Endless IPA
Sofie
Matilda

It was busy as hell at the start and the lines were super long, but they came by with free tall cans of Endless IPA/Honkers to make the wait more bearable. This was my first time ever trying BCBS, so I'm glad I was able to get a pour.
