Tasted this bottled for the first time today and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised....not only at the ale's adherence to the cream ale style but the fact this newly owned Northern is capable of making a super premium beer on quality par with their Red Maple and Edlebrau...I'm amazed after tasting the laker style swill they came out with after the acquisition.
The Catfish is mild, smooth malty and fruity and very drinkable . I think it is in the same niche' as Robert Simpson ale ....a mellow flavorful session ale for people who are not really turned on by strong micro ales.
I'd recommend anyone try it to see what they think of it.
