Well Peen that makes sense too, they would love the online program because for us to click 'buy' online removes all buyer resistance and makes it a no-brainer to transact the product. As the buyer you would have to already understand the nature of the beer before you ever saw it in the province and this takes all the work off their plate so they must love that.

So I'm glad if the online shop sticks around. Maybe if those of you returning product do it immediately upon receipt - rather than after taking it home - there's a greater chance they will get off their butts and sell the remainder in the store just like the LTM Porter Baltique that Portwood mentioned. It's all about helping everyone catch the 'bug' of specialty brews, store staff included - and some of those staff really do appreciate it.

What you all fail to realize is that the online sales extend past only selling beer. I get this is a beer forum so the bigger picture of the LCBO business side of things get lost on some of us and perhaps start to lose sight of how small our community actually is.

This would be a great thing for a journalist to investigate & cover in the news. I mean it can't be a secret from the public, access to information right?

It's not a secret, and hardly newsworthy.

I'm asking honestly, because that seems like a direct comparison for what the LCBO would be dealing with. I admit that I'd be a bit grossed out to think that the pack of chicken I'm picking up was previously at someone's house.
I don't think it's a fair comparison - sealed container vs unsealed container. A better comparison would be bottled beverages, canned goods, etc.

Does the lcbo dispose of the beer in cans too?

Plus perishable. I mean beer is 'perishable' in the BBD in some cases but at least it's intrinsically sterile and shelf-stable all which fresh chicken is not.

good price compared to brewers web site... but too bad it has to be a case. I would gladly buy one of each, but can't drop $280 each on beer I've never had.
